What Sirius IDE is
Sirius IDE is a desktop code editor designed around a single idea: the AI agent edits real files, runs real commands, and asks for confirmation before doing anything destructive. The IDE itself is free; you only pay for the model tokens you actually consume.
Why we built it
Existing IDEs treat AI as a chat box bolted on top. Sirius treats AI as a first-class participant: it has tools, it has context, it has limits. We chose pay-as-you-go pricing in crypto so anyone, anywhere, can pay without a card or a SaaS subscription stacked on top of a model subscription.
Operating principles
No background data collection
Your code stays on your machine. Only the prompts you explicitly send to the agent are forwarded to the model provider, with no analytics attached.
No mandatory subscriptions
Use the free trial, top up, or buy a monthly plan. Cancel any time — there is nothing to cancel beyond not topping up again.
Honest billing
Billing is measured in real model tokens. We expose every plan's monthly token budget up-front. No 'usage credits' or other obfuscation.
Local-first execution
All file edits and shell commands run on your computer, in the folder you opened. Dangerous commands require explicit confirmation.
Technology
Sirius IDE is built on a Python-first editor core, talks to an in-house FastAPI billing backend, and routes AI calls through OpenRouter and direct provider APIs. The website you are reading is a Next.js application served from our own infrastructure. The IDE binary is signed; SHA-256 sums are published on the download page.
